Why am I seeing “The NPI is not enrolled and/or attested with CMS?”
The CMS federal mandate required a "digital handshake" between healthcare providers and their third-party eligibility vendors. Providers must manually authorize their respective WebPT or Insight eligibility verification partner within their Medicare Administrative Contractor (MAC) portal.

If you receive the Rejected Error "NPI is not enrolled/attested with CMS. Please complete CMS EDI enrollment and attestation process or try with another NPI" after completing the new CMS mandated "digital handshake", ensure the NPI used in the eBV request was included in the attestation.
Any NPI used to request benefits should have a completed attestation on file. This includes both the Group NPI and the individual Provider NPI(s). If the Group NPI was registered, select Yes with the Use Group NPI.
If the NPI on the request was included in the attestation and the rejected error is still populating, contact Support.
If the attestation was not completed for the affected NPI, an AO or DO will need to log in to the organization’s specific Medicare Administrative Contractor (MAC) portal (e.g., Palmetto, Novitas, NGS, CGS) to complete the attestation.
Although the portal submission takes only minutes, it often takes up to 5 business days for your Medicare Administrative Contractor (MAC) to fully process and activate the connection. Allow time for the MAC system to process the attestation. Once completed, eligibility checks will continue to function normally within the WebPT EMR.

Why am I Missing the Option to use Group NPI When Verifying Benefits? (eBV)
Once the Electronic Benefits Verification (eBV) feature is enabled, a Clinic Admin will need to add the group NPI under Clinic Settings, or the option of "Use Group NPI" will not appear when trying to Save and Verify Benefits.
1. Go to Clinic Settings.
2. Enter Group NPI for Electronic Benefit Verification.
3. Save Settings.
Then when an attempt to Save and Verify Benefits for a patient is made the Use Group NPI is visible.
