If you follow us on Twitter, Facebook, or Pinterest, you’ve most likely seen or heard something about #GetPT. Perhaps you’ve read our tweets about marketing the benefits of rehab therapy to consumers—essentially, how you can demonstrate why people need to #GetPT. Or, maybe you’ve seen some of the snazzy images below, which—in case you didn’t know—you’re welcome to use on your or your practice’s social media pages.
Or, perhaps you’ve never heard of #GetPT at all, and in that case, I’m here to say: “Welcome to the #GetPT movement!” It’s officially spread from social media to its very own website. So, what’s the big whoop? I asked our Social Media and Community Manager Mark Kats, who—with the help of WebPT Co-Founder and PT Heidi Jannenga—spearheaded this campaign. Here is what he had to say:
“We hope to accomplish two things with the #GetPT movement. First, we want to empower small clinic owners to effectively market their rehab therapy practices. We hope the free downloadable resources on the #GetPT website are useful when it comes to marketing their services and updating the look of their social media sites. Second, we'd love to help spread the word about the benefits of rehab therapy to the general public. The more we can all educate the public about PT, OT, and SLP, the more demand we'll generate for rehab therapy services in general, and the more the entire industry will be better in business.”
With that said, I encourage you to visit the #GetPT website. It’s chock full of marketing and social media blog posts, whitepapers, and slideshares. There, you can also download Twitter backgrounds, profile images, and Facebook cover photos for your social media pages.
