WebPT would like to take this time to express our deepest sympathies to those affected by the recent destructive weather in the Southeast portion of the U.S.  Below is a map of the areas hardest hit by the Spring 2011 Tornadoes.

One of our very own WebPT team members commented on the destruction:

“I was deeply impacted by the recent destruction and loss of lives in the Southeast. I grew up in Eastern TN. My entire family is still there and I have several friends scattered throughout the Southeast region directly in the path of this horrific storm. I mourn the loss as if it was my family, because ultimately, it was my family." - Mike Clevenger, WebPT Member Support Rep

As we share in Mike's empathy for the devastation sustained by  friends and family, the WebPT team has also turned our efforts toward the WebPT community of rehab clinics in the Southeast.  We have spoken with many of the PT clinics in the region to discover that most were fortunate enough to avoid major damage, only experiencing some power loss and minor issues.  However, others were not so lucky.  Our thoughts go out to those affected and wish you a speedy return to business and quality of life.

To assist in relief efforts, WebPT is reaching out to provide financial assistance to some of our members and their families in the SouthEastern United States.  A portion of our proceeds for the month of May will be donated to local charities, who are able to distribute funds, clothing and food to those who were impacted the most.

Please  join WebPT in providing assistance to your fellow therapists, WebPT members and their families; our members have indicated that the following organizations are providing the most immediate and effective assistance:

State of Alabama American Red Cross Salvation Army

Founder Letter: Stability in the Midst of Chaos: Celebrating 10 Years

As a general rule, I do my best to steer clear of politics in these letters. Aside from pushing for pro-PT legislation, I keep my views on party lines to myself. After all, beyond the individuals elected, the goal of our democratic government has always been to work together to find solutions that serve the greater good. Now, we’ve had government shutdowns before—sadly enough. But the three-day shutdown that happened at the end of January was particularly …

    What We're Reading Right Now

Take a stroll through WebPT headquarters, and you’ll see dozens of diagrams on whiteboards, brainstorming sessions in progress, smiling faces, Nerf darts, and a whole lot of hard workers. But, if you look a little closer, you’ll notice books—tons of books. They’re displayed on shelves, stacked on desks, and even organized into mini departmental libraries. Heck, we even have an internal Google+ page where teams can leave book reviews. That’s because here at WebPT, we encourage everyone …

Heart and Sols: Revolutionizing Custom Orthotics

When I first learned how to play the piano, my favorite song was “Heart and Soul.” It’s undeniably catchy, and it was a tried-and-true standard for piano novices like myself. Every day, in an effort to get the song just right, I practiced, practiced, and practiced some more. And what did I glean from this exercise in repetition? Well, it wasn’t stellar piano-playing skills. However, I did learn that it doesn’t take much noise to push me …

Today’s blog post comes from copywriters Charlotte Bohnett and Erica Cohen. The 2012 Summer Olympic Games kicked off in London this past weekend, and we’re pretty excited about the events. As physical therapists, many of you have treated Olympic athletes (maybe you’re even treating a future Olympian right now). So we want to hear from you: what’s your greatest Olympic moment? Our very own Brian Kunich, PT, will be watching one of his former patients compete this …

Coming Soon: The New WebPT Website

Here at WebPT, we like to keep things fresh (see “Be Minty” in this  blog post ). As such, we decided our website could use a little sprucing up—to make it simpler, cleaner, faster, and more representative of the WebPT brand. When you visit  WebPT.com  next week, you’ll definitely notice the new design, but don’t let it throw you for a loop. Even though we’ve enhanced the visual appeal of our website, nothing about the WebPT application …

My Favorite Moments from Washington DC

Today’s blog post comes WebPT President and CTO Brad Jannenga Earlier this month, I packed my bags and headed off to Washington DC along with Courtney Klein Johnson and Chris Petroff, founders of social incubator and fellow Phoenix tech startup, SeedSpot. Why were we heading to our nation’s capitol? Aside from wanting to see the famed cherry blossoms bloom, we were invited to take part in Startup America ’s Champions Take DC event. Packed with amazing dialogue, …
