Even some of us non-physical therapists know that regular exercise is beneficial for many reasons. The Mayo Clinic listed the top 7 benefits of regular exercise as:

  1. Weight Control
  2. Combating Health Conditions and Diseases
  3. Improving Mood
  4. Boosting Energy
  5. Improving Sleep
  6. Improving Intimacy
  7. A Good Time

We couldn’t agree more.

And now, helping your patients get to a place of good health with a home exercise program (HEP) is easier than ever.

The Launch of HEP
WebPT is thrilled to announce the launch of our new, integrated HEP feature. This new feature allows therapists to send patients home with video, images, and written instructions for their specific home exercise program. You heard us right! No more hand-written instructions, no more printed instructions, and no more forgotten exercises. With the new WebPT HEP you can set up both custom and standardized programs using over 2,000 exercises! When patients get home from your clinic, they can watch instructional videos, look at illustrations, and/or read through text examples of the exercises you prescribe.

See it. Hear it. Do it.
These different exercise formats accommodate all possible learning styles:

  • Visual
  • Auditory
  • Tactile

Visual learners will do best with the drawings/illustrations. Patients with an auditory learning style will hopefully respond well to the audio portion of the videos. And last but not least, tactile learners will love matching the physical practice in your clinic to the movements they can watch in the videos.

All of these features can be sent directly to your patient’s email inbox (and excludes any patient data making it HIPAA compliant). This functionality saves you time and elevates your practice. Just think how professional your clinic will come across to new or returning patients.

Patient Education
This new feature is designed to improve patient education and adherence to home exercise regimens. We view this new feature as helping physical therapists get one step closer to the ultimate goal of patient success!

Now, when it comes to patients having the discipline to actually do the exercises, we think the list from the Mayo Clinic provides all the incentives you could want. If getting healthy, losing weight, and having fun aren’t motivation enough, you could send them this video clip for a little extra kick in the pants.

Want to learn more about our HEP feature which will be live in the system on Oct. 10th? Register now for our HEP and Pelvic Health webinar. Find us on Twitter or send us an email. We look forward to hearing from you!
