It’s December already? I must’ve slipped into a food coma after all that turkey. I hope everyone had a lovely Thanksgiving and a fantastic Small Business Saturday. Now, it’s time to get holly jolly and then ring in the new year.
Of course, the new year is all about resolutions, which makes it the perfect time for WebPT to introduce our two new Team Commitments: Do Más With Menos and Live Better. The first one is all about resource efficiency, and it harkens back to WebPT’s bootstrapped roots. We started lean—with three employees in the back room of a coffee shop—and we’re pretty proud of that. And even though we’ve experienced a lot of growth and success since our small startup days, we don’t ever want to lose touch with that scrappy mindset; it allows us to make the most of every resource we’ve got. And speaking of making the most of things—you may have heard the saying that goes something like, “You only get one mind and one body, and they have to last a lifetime.” This quote embodies the idea behind our second new initiative. We’re all about happy, healthy, and brilliant minds, bodies, and spirits. Truly reaching your potential—both personally and professionally—starts with taking care of yourself and one another, and that’s why we’ve made a commitment to live better in 2014.
As you know, the new year also brings with it new Medicare rules and regulations. So, in the spirit of resolutions, we have one for you: PQRS preparedness. The government shutdown delayed a lot of business-critical information for 2014. We’ll have all the details before the New Year, and we’ll make sure you have the tools you need to comply. Still, we want to ensure you’re totally up-to-snuff on all things PQRS 2014—that way, you’ll be able to report confidently and correctly. For that reason, on December 20, 2013, we’ll host a special webinar focused entirely on PQRS requirements for 2014. You can register here. And make sure you get all your questions together before the presentation, because we’ll save plenty of time for Q&A. Our mission is to ensure your practice has PQRS covered well before you pop champagne and sing Auld Lang Syne.
Thank you to everyone in the rehab therapy community for such an incredible 2013. Together, we’ve overcome legislative hurdles, successfully tackled functional limitation reporting, and opened a deep and productive discussion about branding physical therapy and educating the public about who we are and what we do. Of course, our work isn’t done; we must carry all our efforts into 2014—and strengthen our crusade with some new goals. On that note, consider these questions: If you could do one thing differently next year, what would it be and why? Imagine that you are completely free of fear or other constraints. If the sky were truly the limit, what would your 2014 goals be? What do you think our industry’s 2014 resolutions should be?
On behalf of the WebPT family, I want to wish you and yours a very merry and safe holiday season and a prosperous New Year. Eat well, live happily, and be good to each other.
