This time of year can be, well, complicated. Whether you’re scrambling to finish up your end-of-year goals, planning your work around vacations and holidays, or orchestrating a family get-together, ’tis the season for stress.
This year’s Ascend business summit heralded a lot of exciting discussions around innovation and the future of rehab therapy. And because of this, we at WebPT feel it’s important to recognize outstanding clinics that embody the spirit of evolving the profession—no matter what obstacles stand before them.
Each year, WebPT hosts the annual Ascend business summit, and to put a cap on the two-day event, we honor one practice with our Practice of the Year award. The 2019 recipient earned this honor by proving that delivering personalized, innovative care and being a multi-practice organization are not mutually exclusive. With 51 clinic sites (and counting), MedStar Rehabilitation Network, our 2019 Practice of the Year recipient, provides services across Maryland, Washington, DC, and northern Virginia.
October is, without question, my favorite month of the year. The leaves change colors, the mornings have a little bite to them, and all my favorite pumpkin, cinnamon, and apple-flavored treats make a killer comeback. And I’m not the only fall fanatic ’round WebPT HQ—because October rings in one of our favorite annual events: National Physical Therapy Month!
It’s May, which means it’s time to celebrate Better Hearing and Speech Month—and to appreciate the difference SLPs make in the world!
A WebPT Membership is pretty darn fantastic—just ask this PT clinic or this PT and OT pediatric practice. Because even with a basic membership, you score a whole host of truly web-based, therapy-specific tools and resources that are anything but basic. In fact, they’ll help you be better in business.
Conversation hearts may be saccharine-sweet, but they aren’t a personal, super-special treat. So this year, when you want to show your appreciation to those special loved ones in your life, give them these adorable, therapy-specific valentines! Love is in the air; so pick up some chocolates, wrap everything in red ribbon, and print out your specialized valentine cards!
PTs, OTs, and SLPs had plenty of reasons to celebrate this year. Check out the highlights in rehab therapy from 2018.
This was my first year attending WebPT’s Ascend conference, and I wasn’t sure what to expect. A business conference? For PTs? It was exciting and intriguing. I also received carte blanche to write an entire blog post around my own experiences at the conference, which is an absolute dream come true! And, as a non-traditional, non-practicing physical therapist, I knew my experience would be very different from others’.
’Tis the season for changing leaves, hot cider, pumpkin-spiced everything, and, of course, physical therapists. That’s because the APTA named October National PT Month—and they couldn’t have picked a better month. (It is, after all, when I was born. But that’s beside the point.) The true reason for celebrating this October is the wonderful work you and your colleagues do to promote health and wellbeing, restore and maintain function, and improve people’s lives—all without the use of potentially dangerous medication.
