Wii Makes Physical Therapy Fun For Patients |

To many, Wii is just a gaming system, but to others, it's a tool used for healing. KMBC's Dion Lim reported that the Nintendo Wii is being used for rehabilitation in the metro area.
Medical experts call it Wiihabilitation -- a way for patients to not only help regain movement in their bodies, but have a little bit of fun, too. The competitive spirit of Kayla Preston, 14, certainly shows when playing a tennis game on Wii, but it's a big change from her competitions six months ago. "I broke my back, my face --- I had a stroke playing motocross," Preston told KMBC's Dion Lim. Unable to move the left side of her body, Preson enrolled at the Rehabilitation Institute in Kansas City, one of the few centers offering Wiihabilitation.[Read Entire Article] |
