Today's blog post comes from WebPT Copywriters Char Bohnett and Erica Cohen.
With this month’s theme being Ditch the Pen & Paper, we thought it fitting we feature some of WebPT’s founding Members—the original ditch the pen and paper trail blazers, if you will. Here’s our mini Q and A session with Michael Mullaney of Mullaney & Associates and Jim Prussack of In-Home Therapy Services, two tech-embracing physical therapy clinics.

Today's blog post comes from WebPT co-founder Heidi Jannenga, PT, MPT, ATC/L.
As summer comes to a close (at least for most of the country; it’s still over 100 degrees in Phoenix), many of you may experience a change in your clinic as students go back to school. The return to school is always an exciting time for most, with activities like shopping for back-to-school clothes, anticipating a new curriculum, and gearing up for a new sports season. This is also the time of year when many clinic owners complete their budget for next year. With reimbursements continuing to decrease, continuing education allotments are often the first cuts. Here, I would like to make the case for the importance of continued education.

Every business needs business cards, and there’s no better (or prettier!) source than MOO. MOO, an award-winning online print business, produces quality prints at great rates. With MOO, you can easily create professional business cards.

Kicking off the holiday season is the food-fanatic’s favorite, Thanksgiving. In the hectic preparation of the Thursday feast and family festivities, we took a moment to discuss what it means to be grateful. You can look it up in a dictionary, but it’s what you feel in your heart that matters most. We all have our own definition.
In the spirit of sharing, we wanted all of you to know some of the things members of our team are grateful for this season. Below you'll find direct responses from our team.
"I'm incredibly thankful for my health and a great group of friends and family." - Jenny
"I’m grateful for my family and my wonderful little girls." - Matt
"Every day I'm grateful for all the important people, freedoms and opportunities in my life." - Kathleen
"Very simple. My family and that I am currently four years cancer free." - Mike"I'm thankful for a lot of the little things. Being in Colorado; I'm thankful every time I walk outside and see the Rockies towering over me. It makes me thankful to be alive to witness all of the beauty." - Paul F.
"For my professional life, I joined the 'WebPT Family' around this time last year. I'm thankful for the opportunity WebPT has provided me. Supplying a comfortable work environment where I can mesh with a strong collective of professionals focused on accomplishing common goals." - Ryan
On Monday we gathered the “WebPT Family” to share a meal together (see the photo above). And as we think about Thanksgiving as a company, we recognized that our members are very much a part of that family. When discussing what it means to be grateful, Tom, our Director of Marketing said it best, “For me, putting food on the table is a privilege for my family. This makes me appreciate our members. After all, they pay our salary. They allow me to put food on the table for my family and they even allow me to help others who perhaps could only dream of a Thanksgiving dinner.”
Thank you for your support, encouragement, and ideas. WebPT is grateful to all of you.
What is your definition of "grateful" this season? -

Upon logging in this morning, thousands of WebPT members across the country accessed a newly improved system. We’re grateful to all of the members who helped make these improvements possible. Over 30 members submitted ideas that were implemented in the release that happened late Friday night! Many members even saw more than one of their ideas come to life.
To all those contributing members--thank you for submitting your ideas and suggestions to us via the Idea Portal. It’s only by leveraging your expertise that WebPT will continue to be the best documentation software for therapists by therapists.
One of the major improvements in this release is custom initial exam profiles. Last week we posted a blog post on our Resource Page of our website that included details about the new feature.
Other updates included enhancements to the Pediatrics module, additional clinical objective tests, additional billing codes, improvements to reporting and alerts, and overall system enhancements. WebPT Members can access the detailed list of improvements in the News & Updates section of the Dashboard.

Feedback is the breakfast of champions. - Ken Blanchard
In mid-September of this year we launched our first ever member survey. The purpose of the survey was to get a report card from our members on how we’re serving them.We had nearly 400 responses over a period of two weeks. Thanks to the members who took the time to give us feedback. The survey results gave us a lot to digest. Members told us what we are doing really well and where we can improve. Everything was good to hear and we’ll work to incorporate all of the comments into our future plans. We were most satisfied with some of the statistics found below and wanted to share them with all of you.Are you confident that WebPT is Medicare compliant? We found that 93.9% of respondents said, "Yes."

We want to hear from you! Part of being the best solution for Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists and other Rehab Providers is providing a venue for sharing best practices and advice. We want to ensure that we keep it personal, so we're lauching WebPT Office Hours!
WebPT office hours will feature one of our knowledgeable support representatives fielding questions as they come in directly from our members. We will be on Webcam from WebPT HQ answering your questions live! This should be a great way for our members to benefit from hearing questions of other members and to see the bright shining faces of the people you talk to everyday.
We're always proud to offer unlimited email and phone support to our members. This is just another avenue to go above and beyond support requests and share best practices and how to optimize the use of the system.
Our first ever Office Hours session will be on Thursday Nov 17th at 10 EST / 7PST. No need to sign up, you simply show up and chat us over your questions. Click on this link on Nov 17th to join in the festivities. We look forward to hearing from you. See you then!

October is National Physical Therapy Month! That means that for an entire month the industry we love gets some attention from the media and the public. Awesome! This year, the APTA is focusing on sports injury prevention across the life span. For more official information about National Physical Therapy Month, check out this site by the APTA.
For us, it’s all about saying two simple words, “thank you.” Without getting all touchy-feely, we recognize that without all of our members, we wouldn’t be here. You matter to us. We appreciate your business and what you do to care for society. Many of us have personally benefited from the patience and expertise of physical therapists. We’ve been patients and/or many of our family members have benefited from physical therapy. So, thanks for all that you do.
To celebrate, we’ve put together a video campaign of WebPT employees (and even the village chiefs) sharing stories about physical therapy. They will make you laugh; they will make you cry (tissues please!). Make sure to check in each week for a new video.
Today we’re getting started with Jake, our Member Support Manager. Jake is Mr. Dedication. He’s up before the sun for our members (literally, he’s at the office at 5AM).
To kick off our National Physical Therapy Month campaign, watch this message from Jake to you:

For all those of you social media tweeps, use the hash-tag #PTMonth on twitter to share in the social celebration. Also, check in with Move Forward PT for more info on physical therapy. Here’s to a great month!
